Global or local, Sir?

Global or local, Sir?
Food & wine journalism tempted by world food and km zero
In occasion of the International Journalism Festival Bruno Gambacorta, jornalist of RAI 2 News, moderated an interesting conference to discuss together the actual tendencies about global food and the local one. Conference members were Vittorio Castellani, journalist and aka Chef Kumalé, Giacomo Rech food&wine impresario, Marco Bianchi journalist and author and Stefano Cimicchi director of Umbria Tourism Promotion Board.

Italian wine&food journalism is in search of a “third way” between esterofilia and a fight-em-on-the-beaches defence of the made in Itlay brand. Risks to avoid are an a priori rejection of the increasing variety of tastes and/or culinary notions arriving in Italy from across the planet and a food&wine relativism which could penalise Italy’s superb food products.

Key words of the discussion were knowledge and awareness, to merge together the very best of different cultures and traditions and keep us healty.
